End-User License Agreement (EULA)
Important legal notice to adhere to when using this online platform/service: It is advised that you carefully read the following agreement before you begin to make use of this online platform/service.
BY SIGNING UP TO THIS SERVICE YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THIS AGREEMENT. AN ACTION SUCH AS THIS WILL BE REGARDED AS A SYMBOL OF YOUR SIGNATURE AND ACTS LIKE ANY WRITTEN AGREEMENT SIGNED BY YOU. BY AGREEING TO THIS YOU ARE BOUND TO THE SET TERMS OF THE USE OF THE PLATFORM.
If you do not agree to these conditions set in this agreement then you are not permitted to use the service. You can proceed by making use of any exit button to terminate any further use of this platform.
Termination of the use of the service will be a result of not meeting the terms of the end-user-license-agreement set by the service provider; being Campus Connect (Pty) Ltd. (reg: 2019/180415/07) (“Campus Connect”); of the service. Also, any distribution of the content displayed on this platform that is not represented in the limitations of the user will proceed in a suspension or termination of the use of the service by the user.
Campus Connect provides a service that allows our users to have unlimited access to our animated video lectures, summarized notes, and exam-type questions (“Edu-Hub content”) accessed over the internet to any internet-connected device. You may view Edu-Hub content primarily within the country in which you have established your account and only in geographic locations where we offer our service and have licensed such content. The content that may be available to view will vary by geographic location and will change from time to time. The Edu-Hub, including the content library, is regularly updated. Also, we continually test various aspects of our service, including but not limited to our website, user interfaces, promotional features, and availability of Edu-Hubcontent.
As used in these Terms of Use, “the Edu-Hub”, “our platform”, “our online platform”, “our service” or “the service” means the personalized service provided by Campus Connect for discovering and using Edu-Hub content, including all features and functionalities, recommendations and reviews, as well as all content and software associated with our service.
BY USE OF THIS PLATFORM YOU AGREE THAT:
-You provide accurate and complete data on signing up to this platform. You further agree that the data provided may be used to grant the user (being you) access to the platform.
– You must be 18 years of age, or the age of majority in your province, territory, or country, to become a member of the Edu-Hub. Individuals under the age of 18, or the applicable age of majority, may utilize the service only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian, under such person’s account and otherwise subject to these Terms of Use.
– The Edu-Hub and any content viewed through our service are for your educational and non-commercial use only.
-You shall not rent, sell, lease or lend access to this platform to any third party without any additional agreement with the developers/owners of this platform.
-Any administrator of the platform has the right to block or terminate your use of the platform if found that you are in breach of your license agreement. And also has the right to limit any further access of yours on the platform.
-The developer of the platform may keep track of any number of times you accessed the platform, as well as the amount of time spent on the platform.
– You consent to Campus Connect using your data, under the Protection of Personal Information Act (“POPI Act”), for purposes outlined below for Campus Connect operations.
DATA PROTECTION AND PRIVACY
Campus Connect adheres to the highest standards of protecting your personal information when we process it by virtue of your use of our Services, your use of the platform. This Privacy Policy aims to give you information on how Campus Connect collects and processes your personal data through any form of your engagement with Campus Connect, such as when you access or use the Website, or provide us with your personal information in any other way (such as when participating in surveys, participating in events or signing up for newsletters).
We have appointed an Information Officer who is responsible for overseeing questions in relation to this Privacy Policy and any further questions to how Campus Connect complies with the POPI Act. If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, including any requests to exercise your legal rights, please contact Campus Connect and the relevant departments should attend to your query.
All data collected and kept by Campus Connect will be accurate, complete, consistent, timely, and sufficiently detailed for the relevant purposes.
Definitions
1. “data subject” means the person to whom the personal information relates. Used interchangeably with “student” or “user”.2. “personal data” is defined as information relating to an identifiable, living natural person, and where it is applicable, an identifiable, existing juristic person. This is data that allows a person or organisation to be personally identified. This includes, but not limited to – i. any identifying number, email addresses, physical address, cell phone number, location information, online identifier, or another particular assignment to the person.ii. the name of the person if it appears with other personal information relating to the person or if the disclosure of the name itself would reveal information about the person.iii. information relating to race, gender, sex, national, ethnic or social origin, colour, sexual orientation, age, health status, well-being, language, and the birth date of the person.iv. academic details of any data subject.v. It does not include data where the identity has been removed (anonymous data).3. “sensitive personal information” means personal data concerning –i. the religious or philosophical beliefs, race or ethnic origin, trade union membership, political persuasion, health or sexual life information of a data subject; orii. convictions, proceedings, and criminal acts.
The data Campus Connect collects about you
Campus Connect will collect the following personal data concerning its users/students upon sign up to the Campus Connect platform:
i. Username, name, last name, university, year of study, email address;ii. Whether the student is signed or not, and if they are signed what firm they are signed to and whether contract includes a bursary;iii. Password of user.
Campus Connect will not collect any sensitive personal data.
Campus Connect will collect the following data concerning users/student using the Campus Connect platform:
i. Number of times users accessed the platformii. Number of users accessing the siteiii. Amount of time spent on the platformiv. Times of accessing sitev. Pages visitedvi. Internet protocol address/esvii. Browser type used to find siteviii. Internet search engine used to find siteix. Visitor countriesx. Clicks
We also collect, use and share Aggregated Data such as statistical or demographic data for any purpose. Aggregated Data may be derived from your personal data but is not considered personal data in law as this data does not directly or indirectly reveal your identity. For example, we may aggregate your Usage Data to calculate the percentage of users accessing a specific page of the platform. However, if we combine or connect Aggregated Data with your personal data so that it can directly or indirectly identify you, we treat the combined data as personal data which will be used in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Surveys
By submitting any surveys conducted by Campus Connect (either through the platform or sent directly to your email) you consent to Campus Connect using your data, under the POPI Act, for purposes specified by Campus Connect on the survey and/or email.
Campus Connect might collect further data concerning users/student using surveys for the following purposes:
i. Any data collected in this regard might be shared with a 3rd party were contracted by the 3rd to collect such data. In this case, Campus Connect will formally ask for consent from the data subjects to share any data capture.ii. For updating existing data.iii. For any other internal processes such as feedback on the Campus Connect service, awarding of promotional offers, or testing a new Campus Connect might consider implementing.
How we use your data
Campus Connect will only use your personal data when the law allows us to and for legitimate reasons, which you hereby expressly understand and consent to. Most commonly, we will use your personal data in the following circumstances:
i. where we have your express consent to do so (where your acceptance of this Privacy Policy constitutes your informed and active consent);ii. where we need to consult with you or perform on the Services contract we are about to enter into or have entered into with you;iii. where it is necessary for our legitimate interests (or those of a third party) and your interests and fundamental rights do not override those interests; and/oriv. where we need to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation.

Following the POPI Act, Campus Connect will do its utmost best to ensure the security of your data. This includes anonymizing your data for your protection. Furthermore, any shared insights with Campus Connect partners will not incriminate you or reveal your identity unless further consent has been granted by you to do so.
Following the POPIA, Campus Connect can only share analytics captured from data with 3rd parties. We may provide your personal data to third-party marketers/entities for them to contact you. However, and for your personal protection and solace, you will have to opt-in to any such communication or processing conducted by such third parties before they can continue to process your personal data for their own purposes (which opt-in you can immediately reject or accept, as you prefer). No personal data can be shared without the formal consent of the data subjects.
Campus Connect will only keep the data collect for specific purposes. Data records will be deleted when data is no longer relevant or authorised to be held.
Data Security
We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed by using encryption at rest as well as strict data access protocols. In addition, we limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who have a legitimate need to know. They will only process your personal data on our instructions and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality.
We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where we are legally required to do so.
LIMITATIONS
-You shall not rent, sell, lease or lend access to the platform to any third party without any additional agreement with the developers/owners of this platform. Any distribution of the platform is reversed to the developer of the platform. In addition to that, the source code of the application is also reversed to the developer or any party to whom the developer wishes to grant the source code. The user is thus not allowed to reverse engineer the application’s algorithm. Any breach of this limitation will result in the termination of the use of the service.
DISCLAIMER
– THE EDU-HUB AND ALL CONTENT AND SOFTWARE ASSOCIATED THEREWITH, OR ANY OTHER FEATURES OR FUNCTIONALITIES ASSOCIATED WITH THE CAMPUS CONNECT SERVICE, ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. CAMPUS CONNECT DOES NOT GUARANTEE, REPRESENT, OR WARRANT THAT YOUR USE OF THE EDU-HUB WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE. CAMPUS CONNECT SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS LIABILITY FOR THE USE OF APPLICATIONS, INTERNET-CONNECTEDDEVICES, AND CAMPUS CONNECT SOFTWARE (INCLUDING THEIR CONTINUING COMPATIBILITY WITH OUR SERVICE).
– TO THE EXTENT PERMISSIBLE UNDER APPLICABLE LAWS, IN NO EVENT SHALL CAMPUS CONNECT, OR ITS SUBSIDIARIES OR ANY OF THEIR SHAREHOLDERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE (JOINTLY OR SEVERALLY) TO YOU FOR PERSONAL INJURY OR ANY SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY KIND, OR ANY DAMAGES WHATSOEVER.
-THE EDU-HUB IS IN NO WAY A REPLACEMENT FOR TEXTBOOKS AND LECTURES. CAMPUS CONNECT ADVISES ALL USERS TO EXERCISE CAUTION AND MAKE USE OF ALL AVAILABLE MEANS OF LEARNING.
-THE EXAM TYPE QUESTIONS UNDER EDU-HUB CONTENT ARE TRANSFORMATIVE AND HAS RESEARCH/ANALYTIC/EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES. ALL UNDER THE FAIR USE LAW. IN NO WAY, THIS INFRINGES THE RIGHTS OF THE COPYRIGHTS HOLDER.
MEMBERSHIP
-Your Edu-Hub membership will continue until terminated.Your Edu-Hub will be renewed at the start of each year. To use the Edu-Hub you must have Internet access and anInternet-connected device.
Cancellation of membership
-You may cancel your membership by emailing Campus Connect at hello@campusconnectsa.com.
The platform is made available for use by all end users according to the terms set by the license agreement agreed to by the end-users. Termination or suspension of the use of the platform will be a result of not meeting the terms of the end-user-license-agreement set by CAMPUS CONNECT. Reproduction or any redistribution of the platform not in accordance with this agreement is prohibited by law, therefore, can result in criminal charges.
